A variety of universities in India offer the Bachelor in Physical Education (B.P.Ed) degree and many colleges offer the Certificate in Physical Education course (C.P.Ed). Other qualifications for entry into a physical and sports education job include Diploma in Physical Education (D.P.Ed), Certified Course in Aerobics & Fitness (C.C.A.F.), B.Sc. (Physical Education, Health Education and Sports) programs, Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports Sciences (BPES), Diploma in Yoga Education and Diploma in Sports, Science and Nutrition.
The Indian Government has also incorporated Masters of Physical Education (M.P.Ed), Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Management (P.G.D.S.M) and Master’s Program in Sports Physiotherapy (M.S.P.T). There are some short-term courses for Water Sports availed by the Government.
A physical education job in India attracts a reasonable remuneration. However, the satisfaction of such a job is gained from the molding of young (or otherwise) persons into good, healthy and fit beings that are able to physically perform tasks. In most systems of education, physical education is a program that uses learning in a psychomotor, cognitive and effective means in playful and movement settings.
